Have an "average speed" colorization for roads.

I plan long road-trips and there are few maps that really show which roads are fast or slow (e.g. a two lane each direction near-freeway with 65 posted has the same line style as a one lane each way that is 55, 35 or less through towns). Waze is much better though not perfect.

I don't need side-roads, but those that every day have several Wazers on them. Nor does it have to be that precise, maybe color coded <45, 55, 65 >65 though others might want more detail.

Right now you can highlight slowdowns and blockages, I'm suggesting after there are a few dozen or hundred samples, have an option to highlight based on average speed.

There are plenty of colours already. No need to add to the confusion. Just set a route and let waze find the quickest route for you.

I suggested this could be turned on or off or maybe even be a separate map.

I don't want the "quickest route". I like to drive other roads so I would like to see alternatives, but don't want to get stuck on some cowpath. I don't have a destination, at least nothing specific. How can Waze route me when I don't know what the destination is? I would just like to ride on nice roads. And if I've already taken the interstate a half-dozen times, there might be a nice US route some miles away that would be more scenic and a wonderful ride. Or it might be slow and annoying. But there is no way of telling. Do no wazers take "sunday drives" where they might end up anywhere and that is part of the enjoyment?

Waze has always had a clear mission statement that its purpose is to get you from your house to work and back again on a daily basis in the quickest way possible. Road trips, vacations, Sunday drives are all officially unsupported. That doesn't mean you can't try to use Waze for those things (I use it all the time for long trips), just understand that it isn't designed for that. I can drive in a nail with the handle of a screwdriver, but I need to realize my screwdriver is not a hammer.

You could always turn on the Avoid Highways option and set for shortest route, that should give some interesting alternatives.

And if you still see that option: "Prefer cookie munching" is made for you. Do not forget to turn the option off on mondaymorning, though.
