Search does NOTHING on new install

I've been happily using waze for a year or so. Today I showed it to my father and installed on his iPhone 4.

But, when I tried to show him how navigation works, the search did nothing other than hiding the on screen keyboard.

I tried a few names from his address book and then a couple restaurants. The restaurant results came up fine on my phone but nothing on his -- not even the "search" screen with the different search options at the bottom.

Absolutely nothing.

Is this a known issue?

Depending on OS and hardware, you must hit the magnifying glass keyboard button or use the hardware enter key? This has been posted and answered many times.

Hardware: iPhone 4
OS: 5.1.1 (latest)

No hardware enter key.
Clicking the magnifying glass also does nothing.

I have the same hardware and OS on my phone and all works fine. No search at all on my father's phone.

Any background apps running that can be interfering? Using 3G or wifi?

Same issue here. iPhone 4 running 5.1.

Edit :- Also a brand new install.

Same thing here. iPhone 4 and search does nothing but hide the keyboard.

I thought I had read "iphone" but on Tapatalk, somehow, I couldn't find it again. So, yeah, forget the hardware key crap I wrote above. :roll:

Um, so hitting the Search button should send it on its way. What account are you logged into Waze with? And are you certain you've got a data connection when doing this? (Dumb questions, but we gotta start somewhere.)

I'm having the exact same problem as marneysdad's father. When I enter an address and hit the blue Search button on my iPhone 4S, I get no search results. All that happens is the onscreen keyboard disappears. My Waze install is brand new, I am logged into my new Waze.com account, and I have a good wifi connection.

I woke up this morning and found that I can now search for addresses.
