Waze not logging my trips

I drive 100 miles (round trip) a day. yet Waze says I have 7.3 miles logged. More often than not the system says my GPS is off and location is approximate...how do I activate my GPS?

Check your phones instruction manual. You need gps and data to use Waze.

If I tur my phone off then back on, Waze seems to see my GPS location. Otherwise is shows me on the map and looks like it is reading my stats, but it says it is just guessing location and does not seem to be actually recording my trip...sorry..I can't be more informative...I'm at my desk now, not driving with the error happening..

It's using cell towers not GPS. Did you do as xteejx suggested?

It would be helpful if you disclose what smartphone or tablet brand and model you have.

This happens when client is not able to get good gps signal. If you are on android, check if gps icon in stagus bar is blinking (poor signal) or stable (good signal). Inaccurate position is also shown in waze client- the blue cycle is around your vehicle icon. You may try gpsfix app from market in order to improve gps performance.

It is strange but various versions of waze client have different performance regarding gps stability and accuracy. Some versions are ok, some have huge problems... i was able to get it fixed with above app.

I'm not drunk, just using tapatalk.
