Omagh and A5

Postby huddie » Mon Sep 03, 2012 6:41 pm

I drove to the Ulster American Folk Park the other day and I've noticed Omagh barely shows in the Waze Editor. I've therefore made a start. Just wondered if anyone else wants to add any roads ? Your help would be great as there's next to nothing here at the minute.

Here's what I've done so far:

1. Created A5 segments from mostly Waze-paved roads and made a few adjustments. They are between Ballygawley and Omagh. See here for part of it: https://world.waze.com/editor/?lon=-7.2072&lat=54.55419&zoom=0&layers=BTTTTTTTTTFTTTTTTTTTFT&segments=164250277,148464361,145316525,145316523,145316524,145316522,145316521,145316520,145316518,145316519,145316517,144859403,144859404,144859406,144859405,144859494,144859496,144859493,144859492,144859490,144859491,144859487,144859489,144859486,144859485,144859506,144859505,144859504,144859503,144859502,144859501,144859500,144859499,144859498,144859497,144859476,144859473,144859474,144859475,144859471,144859472,144859470,144859482

2. Added a large A5 road segment between Omagh and the Ulster American Folk Park: https://world.waze.com/editor/?lon=-7.31099&lat=54.62897&zoom=1&layers=BTTTTTTTTTFTTTTTTTTTFT&segments=167571697

Here's what needs to be done:

1. The parts of the A5 that I've added haven't been correctly named - I've just called them 'A5'. The different parts of this road could do with being given their correct names - I know there are a few different road names here, but don't know them as I'm not from the area.

2. Omagh town needs roads and streets added and named correctly.

Unfortunately, I can't do much of this myself as I'm not from the area and don't know the names, etc. In fact, I was only able to do anything at all as I drove through the other day and, thus, have been granted edit permission. If I could have some help here that would be fantastic! ;)

I've made some tweaks to road geometry here. Can't do much, though, as I'm not familiar with the area and have only been here a couple of times. Again, any help would be great! ;)

Thanks Timbones. I'll keep editing too. Saw a problem report about the lack of roads in mid and west Ulster, so saw an opportunity.

I'm far from local, but I've drawn in some of the major roads in that area. IGN-style!
