Busways

Hello, I'm curious what, if anything, I should do with busways:
https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=6&lat ... TTTTTTTTFT

These are lanes, between the main lanes of traffic along the interstate, just for buses. They were originally put in place by a level 0, and since then the last to touch them is now a level 3 or a staff member of Waze. They are set as "service road", with unknown direction. As a bonus, some users have added carpool left exits to the busway, even though there's no carpool lane designated and the buses don't exit there. At the very least those should be connected to the main road (as parking lot) so carpool users who use them would be snapped to them.

The problem I've been running into, is occasional UR's due to Waze snapping drivers on the Interstate to the busway.

My personal preference would be to delete them, since drivers should never be in the busway, and its too easy for Waze to snap drivers to them who are on the Interstate (whether in regular or carpool lanes). The difficulty with this is many of the segments are locked, and last touched by a level 6.

So I thought I ought to check to see what the meta mind thinks about these.

The problem with deleting them, I would think, would be the same problem as railroads. If there enough people that ride the buses with waze on, it would be better for those tracks to snap to the bus lanes. I'm not saying that on balance they shouldn't be deleted, just that this is factor that I would include in the decision.

What about turning them into railroads instead of service roads? Would that make Waze less likely to snap drivers to them?

No, recent testing by a train operator in NL showed that you are NOT snapped to railroads...

So that sounds like I SHOULD mark them railroads, since the problem I've seen is drivers being snapped to the busways, who are on the freeway.

But what about the wazers on the bus? If they have their one lane to snap to, their data does not pollute the normal lanes...

Always difficult to make the right choice...

I think the answer is obvious. We do away with mass transit entirely. I'm going to start work on the petition so we can gather the signatures needed to put it on the ballet. I'm going to need someone to run the fundraising side to help pay the paid signature gathers and pay for the advertising in support of this.

Next question is: What about the HOV only Left exits? They are currently mapped off of the bus-lanes. Make them parking lot type and connect to the freeway with turn restricted? So that way if HOV people exit they're still on the map? Leave them connected to the busway? Please don't say "Draw in the HOV lanes". There's a section of the 105 where editors keep drawing them in, and then other editors come in and delete them.
