Loose your royalty rank when inactive

Postby deeggo » Thu Oct 28, 2010 8:19 am

I'm wondering if any royalty status (shield, sword crown) can be lost after earning them. For instance, will you loose you're sword for a shield when you take a long vacation just after earning the sword, or when changing jobs and driving significantly less than before?

When I saw the topic title, I was hoping you were referring to the area manager rank. There are a lot of inactive area managers, would be nice if they got kicked when being inactive.

I agree!
Changed the topic title to make it clearer.

Yes you can lose your royalty rank. You get a warning when you are at risk. It's all in the language file in the wiki

What about the inactive area managers? Do they get the boot? My area has an inactive manager. I put in to replace them but have yet to get a response.

Areas can have multiple AMs. You wouldn't replace them, you'll just be added in addition to them.

Right now inactive AMs aren't exactly a problem... they're just sort of there, but not harming anything. I think that once waze grows even more they might want to think about adding a process where inactive AMs will be removed.

One would expect that there is a cap on the number of royalty - I mean, even the slowest user would eventually get enough points for a crown, after ten years or so. And by then, all longterm users are royalty... there is a devaluational aspect in that. To keep royalty special, one should only grant the top 1% of a country a crown, the top 5% a sword, the top 10% a shield...

I seem to remember krankyd saying they do monitor AM activity and they do demote ones that have been inactive for a long period of time. There was an AM in Peterborough when I first joined but I don't think he's there now.
