Hi all, I've been using waze for a whole 4 days and have already become an area manager for my suburb and a few surrounding areas.

Are there any other area managers in Perth or WA?

Put your hands up here!

Hey!
Ash from SA here, AM for SA. I find my edits take about a fortnight to get through, but I know there was a bit of a speed up recently so this may decrease. Keep in mind, there are delays between roads being driven -> roads appearing in Cartouche and getting edited -> Roads appear in Live Map -> Roads come up on the client (Phones). This whole process can take a month even with speedy editors in well kept areas.

As far as tips, I'd say STAY ENTHUSED! The more you do, the more it seems like this will never end, but every bit you do helps. I love fiddling about, so it's easy for me to do, but remember every bit you add helps. I wrote a bit of a blather under the SA forum post, http://world.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=2436&start=20&sid=bf9a672d1bbd1187ea190d226fbb4fa9#p45161 that you might find helpful, and a bit of a guide you can feel free to pass onto any of your minions ;) This also has a bit of an order of importance, on what can be done to help. More aimed towards newbies, but it might help...

Your role is really to make sure the map stays as tidy as you can, and keep things going. OK road deletions, label roads, so on. Because MOST (not all) people will just drive and not edit nor name their roads you'll likely have to be the one to finish most roads. Get the main ones done, then focus on the side roads, and before you know it your suburbs will take shape!

Good luck, and feel free to PM me with any questions or help you want!!

I've recently signed up and started attacking West Perth in particular.

One thing I've found a little frustrating/confusing is the fact virtually every 'primary street' in Perth with even the tiniest occasional garden bed between lanes has been split into two one-way streets, making intersections excessively complicated. The wiki notes that only significant separation of lanes (>5m) should be shown this way, and even then normally only for freeways.

Anyone want to weigh in on the topic, because I'd really like to see a number of these combined.

I'm in Marangaroo. Willing to help, but I have a problem. My GPS track doesn't always follow the roads. I need to delete some of my erroneous tracks. All I can find is how to create new roads through people's houses. :!: I'm only new, and haven't got these forums sorted yet.

Gdoing, if you're just talking about your own GPS tracks don't worry about it - if it's actual roads that have been laid in the wrong place, then the map editor is the way to go, but please do plenty of research on best practice before jumping in. I'm reasonably active in the editor if you want to ask any questions!

Hi all,

I have been using Waze for a couple of weeks. Live in Perth.

Started map editing today & applied for AM status so I can connect newly created suburban streets to primary streets with correct intersection info and such.

I zoomed out to Permalink only the suburb I live in, but seeing the area covered by other AM's..... I should have selected more.
Particulary as my daily work commute takes me from Southern suburbs to Northern suburbs.

See you all on the road!
