Ask about one change in color scheme "Map editors"

Postby LafarM » Fri May 20, 2011 7:30 am

I think that one change should be make in color map scheme "Map editors". I am using this scheme and I think that one color schould be changed. They have one mistake: areas (cities and villages) and dirty roads are in the similar colour. I propose change colour of dirty roads. I think that black will the best.

Let me propose another change: Change the colour of the planned route to 00ff00 (bright green). The current colour is to close to the freeway colour.

(I always manually change the schema file this way, the planned route is the last line in the file).

Some of us can't change this so easily....

You don't need to Jailbreak an iPhone to change the colour scheme, just use DiskAid to drop the modified schema into the appropriate folders:
\Waze\Waze.app\skins\default\day
\Waze\Waze.app\skins\default\night

I reduced the thickness of the roads too as I found that many of the smaller roundabouts in the UK just turn into blobs ...

I also use DiskAid to put the PGPSW Speed camera POIs onto the TomTom app.

DiskAid has a free trial for PC or Mac and can be found here: http://www.digidna.net/products/diskaid
(It's nothing to do me with me but I find it really useful!)

Ok, wow. I had no idea this was possible so easily. FileApp is an App Store approved non-jailbreak app for managing files directly on the device, too. Thank you !

Lets hope that they don't lock it out in iOS 5!

Do you know of a similar way to do this with an Android device? Thinning out the roads sounds like something I'd like to do.

Also, related to the colours, when I switched into day mode this morning my route glitched and kept the night mode colour. So much easier to see!!

Download ES File Explorer and you can adjust everything the same way!
