Interest in KL Wazer user group meeting

Postby a4xrbj1 » Wed Jan 26, 2011 3:27 pm

Guys (and hopefully girls),

I'm in the process of organizing a meeting of now 2 wazers in KL to do some knowledge (means tips and tricks) transfer. We would meet and I plan to demonstrate some real editing and how I usually approach certain problem area, lessons learned (the hard way) etc.

We could use this opportunity to have a Waze User Group meet (Waze Kaki), where we could:

- get to know each other in real
- discuss how we can get more Wazers using/helping edit eg
- share tips & tricks (see above) with new users but also experienced ones

If anybody is interested to join in, please answer to this topic directly. Please also give this message further to some of your friends who might be interested in Waze.

Let's hope we can built the community of Waze up in KL and surroundings!

Cheers,

Andreas

Of course interested. It would nice to meet up with Wazers and also share some exciting experience. May be we should also look at getting some potential wazers from our office. :-)

I'm interested and I'm currently stuck with editing Bangsar with very limited time to experiment. Busy time. But let us know when will be a good time. I'll try my best to meet up with other wazers. :)

Not true, Malaysian Wazers are as active as never before! Please join our Facebook group where you meet 130+ other active Wazers from Malaysia.

Either follow the link posted in another thread here or search on Facebook for "Waze in Malaysia"

Lol I'm such an idiot ... I was actually looking at the date on the right side thinking that's the last posted date which is like last year .... see it properly now it's actually joined date haha ... so this is posted not long ago ..

Well just wanna say I'm very interested in joining any TT or meeting to learn more on how to edit maps :) And I agree we need to get more people to join Waze. Is anyone active in Lowyat forum? I guess if we promote there, we'll get alot people to join. I'm sure there's lots of tech-wiz/geeks over there lol ...

I kinda find it funny how we actually need to teach a GPS how to route instead of the other way around haha.. but that's cool since I have a Garmin with me. I'll connect both my Garmin and my phone now everytime I drive ... my friends call me lansi =.=

You connect your Garmin and your phone? How do you do it, via Bluetooth? What devices are you using precisely? You probably have a more accurate GPS this way, as the mobile phone GPS can't keep up with Garmin's quality!

Oh no i don't mean linking both of them TOGETHER ... just 2 separate cup and 2 device separately connected to my car's charger haha .. my bad ..

Phone : Desire HD
Garmin : nuvi 255

But surprisingly the Desire HD's GPS is pretty accurate ... it's keeping up with the Garmin ! But it just take more time to recalculate if you don't follow waze's route (and sometimes it hangs) =/
