Waze maps are community supported. It's up to us, and now you too!, to create the map using the web-based editing tools. You can record roads in the Waze client (still must be confirmed/saved in the editor), and/or use the editor to update the map. There's a comprehensive wiki which has a load of information you should read before getting too heavy into the editing.

Also, from the client you can Report map update requests, which will put an 'alert' on the map which a local area manager (community member, not Waze employee) can use to fix problems. You can report map problems on the client or via the LiveMap.

Welcome aboard!

The satellite imagery from Bing may not yet showing your apartment complex if it is in one of those empty lots. Otherwise get us closer to the actual complex by zooming in from the link above and post a new Permalink following my previous instructions.

Probably here. It doesn't exist yet on Bing or Mapquest, but does, obviously, on G-Maps.

Best option at this point is to record the roads with the client using the bulldozer, waiting until they appear on the map, and editing/naming them. No copy copy from other mapping services.
It's not like G-Maps and G-Nav (which is this guy's "all the other gps apps" since it's the only one that does have it) is all that great on getting updates out.

This right here is still on-going construction, however that aerial is maybe 2 months old and it is obvious where all the roads will be. The difference here is Waze's map is accurate to reality (NB & SB SH-83 uses the overpass now, ignore the GPS points) even without a good aerial, and G-Map's, and consequently G-Nav, isn't even close any more even though they have a really good and recent aerial to work from.

Yeah they've got the parking spots for the street view cars marked already.

Some additional thoughts in addition to AlanOfTheBerg's previous post.

You will be more likely to get a response if you can post the exact location frpm the Waze map editor.

Go here (Google Chrome recommended): https://descartes.waze.com/live/
Log in with your Waze account
Search and find the area you are referring to on the map
Click on the Permalink button in the bottom right corner of the browser window
Copy and past the entire URL that appears in your browser and post it as a response to this thread

And since you now know how to find the map editor, read up on map editing in the Wiki and try to add the streets yourself!

update west jordan, ut

Postby vBeltz » Fri Sep 02, 2011 3:55 am

There needs to be an update to the map. My whole apartment complex is missing in west jordan, ut. It was built about a year ago, and all the other gps apps have it, or at least let me add my location so i can find my way back home. Please do an update! it's cross streets are 7800 South and 5600 West.
