Area Manager: Diagnosis
We all know that Waze is just starting in the US and that the roads need a lot of clean up. The FAQs on map editing are more oriented to how to resolve a known and pretty clear map 'problem' but not so much if you 'only know the symptom'. So here's a list of common symptoms but with a series of 'check these' recommendations that newer area managers could use to diagnose and fix problems.
Examples of 'symptom' descriptions:
- 1. Navigation takes you off the freeway and onto slower local roads.
- 2. Navigation recommends going the wrong way on a one way ramp to a freeway
- 3. Navigation voice prompt tell you to make a turn but purple navigation path shows turn is a couple blocks ahead
- 4. Navigation neglects to say to take an off ramp, when one is available and is quickest route
- 5. Navigation to one of your favorite destinations continues to recommend a slower route, based on estimated ETA, even though you have driven your quicker local short-cut route for more than 2 weeks.
- 6. Navigation tells you to take a turn off a freeway that would go into a freeway wall or hard right off a bridge that would send you flying into the air
- 7. Navigation tells you to take a non-existent left hand turn across a grassy median while traveling on a road that has two - one way lanes and a grassy median.
- 8. What to do if you find the Live maps road is different from the Update maps road.
