Limiting traffic disruptions during the Paris Versailles race
Versailles, France (Communauté d'agglomération de Versailles Grand Parc)

The city of Versailles was one of the first French cities to join the Waze Connected Citizen Program. Versailles is located in one of the busiest areas of France, just outside of Paris, where more than 2 million users commute with Waze on a daily basis. The City of Versailles is the organizer of a famous pedestrian race between Paris and Versailles every year in September. As any major sport event, the Paris - Versailles race can cause major traffic disruptions. Thanks to the Connected Citizen Program, the City of Versailles was able to update the Waze app with road closures on the race route and send push notifications to local Wazers with information on traffic impact. The City of Versailles is now working on further and deeper integrations with the Connected Citizen Program following this initial success.
