Sharing real-time business location data

Johns Creek was the first Connected Citizens municipal partner to share real-time business location data with Waze. Using map-friendly data from its license applications and renewals database, Johns Creek pulled business locations, making dramatic updates to the map.

Impact:

Increased the number of business locations from 500 to 1,500 in the first data import.
Added new businesses faster and more reliably.

"By sharing business information to Waze with the business name tied to a latitude and longitude, it makes the experience faster and easier." Waze pulls information from the City's DataHub automatically and, as a result, the process doesn't cost the city anything.
