I own a business at this location and our patients have been having trouble navigating when they used Waze, I realized it was because the entrance to the parking lot is not marked as a road in Waze so it takes people to the adjacent parking lots. I tried to join and edit myself but it keeps saying I don’t have permissions and there’s no option to submit for review, so I’m posting here. Hopefully someone can help me fix this!
I made edits to a screenshot of the location:
The blue dot indicates my business location. The business is an orthodontic dental clinic named “New Fairfield Orthodontics”, its address on google maps is 3 CT-39, New Fairfield, CT 06812. Here is a link to its google maps page:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/New+Fairfield+Orthodontics/@41.4670782,-73.4854275,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xd49209dca7e647b2!8m2!3d41.4671!4d-73.4854083
The green double sided arrow is the only entrance to the office building parking lot, it is an entrance and exit onto the road CT-39.
The orange single sided arrow shows a one way exit around the NE side of the building and along the NW/back side of the building that connects to another parking lot on the W.
You can see the parking lot road drawn correctly in google maps. The driving directions are also correctly mapped in google maps.
Please let me know if you need further clarification. Thank you!
Hello and thank you for your report,
I have made the requested changes here.
I have also added your business, let us know if everything looks good.
Hooray! Thank you so much!
I requested a small edit to the address to help it match Google better: I changed the address to “3 CT-39” for both my business and the business next door.
The address has two names: “CT-39” which is what Google uses and “SR-39” which is more historic and stands for “State Route”. Both should navigate to our location BUT: Navigating to “3 SR-39” can sometimes take you to a totally different part of town on “Ball Pond Road”, I clipped the photo below. Is there a way to change this? If so, that would be AWESOME!
That is a little more complicated issue, I have started the work to fix it but will take a longer time to fix. The standard for naming in CT for Waze is SR-xx for a State Route naming, I recognize Google Maps uses CT-xx as their naming structure. It is unlikely to change anytime soon, but I should be able to shortly fix the 3 SR-39 address issue, it takes some time for the servers to process an address change like this
Thank you for your help with this! The CT vs SR thing isn’t a huge deal, as long as people don’t get navigated to Ball Pond anymore. How long do you think it would take for the directions redirect to take effect?
