To my knowledge, that means that you have joined a waze “group”, that wazer is in the same group, and the symbol is the icon that group chose to represent itself.
Can anyone else confirm this?
Yes, that looks like a group icon. Different groups can have different icons.
Login to you Dashboard, and click on Create, join or manage groups
