## Area Manager

- If you want to become an _Area Manager_ (AM), you should be a Waze [community](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/community/374719 "Community") member who wishes to take an active and proactive role in maintaining specific [areas](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/editable-area/374739 "Editable area") of the Waze map.
- You have to request becoming an Area Manager  
- If your [editor level](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/editor-level/374735 "Editor level") isn’t already **3** , you will get this level with the AM title.

### Tasks

- Monitoring your [area](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/editable-area/374739 "Editable area") on road works and make changes to the map when road construction projects start and finish by maintaining new geometry, adding or deleting roads and disconnecting and re-connecting ramps.
- React on [UR’s](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/update-request/375028 "Update request")
- Process and resolve [map errors/problems](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/map-problems/374823 "Map Problems").
- Maintain speed and red-light cameras, processing reports of devices from Waze drivers.
- Act as a mentor to other editors, offering advice.
- Take action when you see improper edits on the map.
- and have an active role in the [community](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/community/374719 "Community") by participating in [Slack](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/slack/374943 "Slack") and on the [forum](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/forum/374755 "Forum").
