Sorry! I didn’t realize I had put it in the wrong place! Denys, much of the IBGE content regarding municipalities is outdated. I try to look for the laws, but when the creation of the district is very old, they aren’t digitized; in this case, I look for laws and decrees that reference the name of the locality, since it is an official document.

No worries! The guidance is general!
Search the IBGE and if it’s outdated, look for the Law creating the District or City!
In the last creation request, the District was listed in the IBGE.
I’ve seen a Decree/Law cite a locality as a District and in another as a Village (or something similar).
