J’aimerais egalement qu’on m’explique pourquoi quelqu’un éviterais l’A84 gratuite entre Caen et Rennes et se retrouverais à traverser la Bretagne sur de la voie express.
Soit faut qu’on revois nos dictionnaires sur la définition du mot autoroute, soit faut que Waze revois son option “Éviter les autoroutes”.

Mostly major highways are just used on long routes.

For example.
1.5 week ago I traveled from the north of the netherlands to fontainebleau.
It choose a route over Lille.
But in this route there is a 6km stretch of major highway.
There is an alternative to drive over bruxelles. You won’t get any major highway there, but because lille was a little fast it choose that.
If you make the express roads major highway it will still consider driving on them.

Peter, If rings are in major, then long way routes will be an addition of Freeway, major, Freeway, major, Freeway, major…

What I meant about “Avoid Freeway” is that If you look a Map, there is a Freeway between Caen and Rennes (A84) which is non toll Road. And all National Roads in Bretagne are Voie Express (non toll either). There’s no Autoroute in Bretagne, because the Roads network have been paid mostly by the Régions and a part by the French Government.
This fact is on the way to be change. N157 and N12 will be, at long term, transfert to Cofiroute to continue the A81 to Brest. Same thing for the N137 to continue the A84 between Rennes and Nantes.

What I don’t understand is why Waze should Avoid the A84, which is an Autoroute, and not Avoid the N157, N12, N137, N24…
And why Avoid Autoroute, but not Avoid rings ?
