Sorry for being silent recently, but work and other diversions at home have kept my Waze time to a minimum for the last few weeks (this has just about come to an end now). I did discuss it with the other UK Waze Champs but a conclusion was never reached, however, I admit I should have have communicated that to you … sorry!
My own thoughts are that ferries as a toll route is something we could add to waze and the Drive on Drive off part of the chunnel is basically an underground ferry (which does present it’s own challenges). I have mapped these short internal ferries that I use from time to time). Somehow we need to ensure that the passenger train part of the chunnel is discouraged though.
None of it is anywhere near my patch but if xteejx is happy to keep an eye on it then we should at least try it to see if it works, lots of things have been tried as experiments in the Waze system, some have worked and some have not. Lets not be afraid to try but we need to be honest enough to agree if it hasn’t worked and remove it from the map.
As far as roaming goes, when I went to the Paris Mega-Wazers meet I took the chunnel and armed with a PAYG Orange-FR SIM Wazed may way to Paris and back. Indeed, last November the French roads worked very well for me
