Deleting unexisting traffic camera

Along my 2 possible daily ways there are 3 camera that are misplaced or that don’t even exist.
I can’t delete them via the map editor and using the “Not there” from the app seems useless.
What’s the correct procedure to delete a traffic camera?
Thanks

When you click on the camera, it will tell you who approved it or set it. Try to PM that person on the forum about it. Would help too to find some info on the web about it being removed and include that in your message. Also a permalink to the camera.

If they don’t respond, I would follow the unlock request forum for your area and ask someone to help in removing it.

Well I doubt that the user is actually here

GillesHeinemann has made a modification but he’s not the creator

I’m sorry, my bad. The last person to update it is generally the one who approves it, unless he just moved it. But, yeah, contact him.

If you put a permalink here, to the location of the camera’s, we can delete them.
Normally, when you click ‘not there’ in the app, there will be an extra symbol on the speed camera on the map in WME (it will show a brown speed camera with a cross)… But it still needs a human intervention, by an editor, to remove the approved speed camera from the map.

Sometimes there are editors who base theirselfs on the number of reports on that area, to approve one, sometimes you can actually see it on streetview, sometimes you pass there yourself…
Of course, the last option, is always the best, but not always possible, certainly not with a still growing community like the one in Belgium…

But all help is welcome, so we are happy to have you here!
You can contact Gilles via the forum here, via PM, or if that doesn’t work out, you can let me now, so i can contact him via email or Google Hangout…

I could be wrong in the details about this:
The “Not there” button in the app uses weighted votes. The vote of a high level map editor will count more than the default app user (no offence). The “Not There” votes have to counterbalance the level of the creator (or last editor, not sure) of the speed-cam. Still many default user votes can remove a speed-cam created by a high level map editor. Every user can vote once a day or once a week (not sure).

The ‘Not there’ function is actually there to determine if a speedcam is on the wrong road.
Example:
https://editor-beta.waze.com/row/?zoom=5&lat=51.58237&lon=4.81436&layers=TBFTFFTTTTFTTTTTTTTFTTTTFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

On the Heerbaan is a speedcam.
It used to give a warning on the Franklin Rooseveldlaan. Since clicking on ‘Not there’ it doesn’t anymore

None taken
I didn’t knew it was related to the map editing activity.
Anyway here’s the permalink

that’s one permalink, and i only see 1 camera there, right?!
i removed the one that was there, so now i don’t see any left…
Or are the other two on a different place?

Yup there are others, I’ll list them here later here
Thanks!
