Does Police and other alerts come up while navigating

Hi I’m new to Waze and being a wazer.

I have found that the pop up alerts a great while stationary but what about while on the move.

Is there a way to turn them on so they will then appear while driving?

Or do they automatically appear in the alert on my Navigation route. Do they work when just driving around and not using the navigation function…

They do automatically popup if on your route (or on the road in front of you if no destination is set) as you approach them.

There are two types of pop-ups… The type that pop-up when you are stopped and show things around your area…

When driving (doesn’t matter if you are in navigation mode or not, but navigation mode helps predict these better) you’ll get a pop-up when you approach then (i.e. “Watch Out, Police reported Ahead” with a popup with two buttons, “Not There” and “Thanks”)

do you have to turn this feature on? I get the popups when stationary but never when moving?

I don’t think so. I don’t know how to turn them off (or on).

You can also get pop ups while on the move if the report was sent by another wazer in the same main waze group as you are or on other groups you follow. This can be set in the client options.

Is it supposed to make a sound when it displays this popup? I don’t seem to get any audio notification when the popup appears.

The popup notification being discussed, happens when the hazard/police is on your side of the road and on the road you are (or will be) driving on and pops up while driving with the “Not There” and “Thanks” button. This is not the same as the rotating popups which appear when stopped.

It’s been a while since I saw one, but I believe group pop ups also make a sound.

Good point, and I do believe you are correct. I have group popups currently off.
