I am an event planner and we have many events with Road Closures in our City that effect the connection area between major roads. I am trying to submit them on the WME site but when i try to submit the event and it says “You have no permissions to make some of the changes” – How do i get permissions? ![]()
Hi, which country or state is your city in? The local community of editors can help with these closures

I am in Fairfax, VA (Specifically the City of Fairfax)
The local editing community is a great resource. You might be interested in the Global Event Partners. You can find out more here: https://www.waze.com/eventpartners

While you are reviewing the Global Event Partners information, I would also recommend that you reach out to the VA editing community, they can help with setting up closures as well.

It appears that you might be a municipal employee. Another Waze resource that is available for municipal agencies, is Waze’s Connected Citizens Program (CCP). It goes beyond just closures and events. It gives agencies that want to share their data, access to all kinds of Waze data. More info at:

KatieMacCammon,
All of the above are fine if you want to go that way. I am one of Virginia’s Waze State Managers. Basically the “local” one for Fairfax. Feel free to send me a PM from your inbox with any events that you would like closures to be entered for. We can use Major Traffic Events for appropriate ones so users are notified that the correct closures are in for that event.
There is a slight wait, but if Fairfax City joins the CCP then some Fairfax City employees can enter the closures directly. They can also close down roads for maintenance or crash investigations to help route traffic
