Are there any plans to allow reporting in the US for Feed The Waze? If so, do we know when we can expect it? This is something that would benefit the Waze community here in the States tremendously! 911 centers & police can report accidents as they come in, News media outlets can add traffic reports to the map as they receive them. All I’ve been told so far is that it is not possible, if it is not planned anytime soon, any reason why it is not? Why Int’l but not the States?
Yes, I would love this feature. I work for a public safety agency that covers 16,000 square miles in Texas and could easily and quickly report traffic collisions as they occur.
Simply enough, because its creator is based in Europe. It’s not an official tool, although it may have some official support.
I’d love to see it here, but I don’t expect to.
I tried sending emails to the addresses listed on Feed the Waze but haven’t received a reply. :? So basically all we need is someone to create a US based version? What all would we need for us to do that?
Personally, I think this would be easy for Waze to implement here in the states. Perhaps allow registered users the ability to do so via the LiveMap. Furthermore, I would like to see the ability for “Official Reporters” Such as 911 Centers or Law Enforcement or New Media Outlets so Wazers know the report is 100% valid. Also, give them the ability to specify an expiration time for the report or the ability to clear a report once the hazard or road conditions have cleared.
I’ve sent a PM to the maintainers to ask if it could be used on the US / Canada server. I suspect that if it’s on for one, it would be trivial for it to be on for the other, so as long as the US Champs are on-board with it, that should be easy.
I’ll report back when I hear anything.
If they need any help moderating or anything, I’d be glad to assist.
I requested an area on the site few weeks ago, but no response
I’ll just put my two cents in. There are plenty of reports on the map where I am. Just adding more of them from external sources seems unlikely to help me. I actually find that the reports on waze to be more accurate than reports for the authorities. There are plenty of times the DC police twitter feed just gives the wrong location. Seems there is just less places for errors to be introduced when the report is directly from reporter to me and the location of the reporter is automatically recorded.
I wouldn’t mind adding things personally though, construction zones and potholes and such. It’d be a lot nicer to alert someone of construction ahead when there’s construction ahead instead of using any of this (CONST ZN) stuff.
I spoke to the someone affiliated with Feed the Waze yesterday, a US version wasn’t planned but will try to expand its service as per my request.

I’d like to think that while it may slightly increase quantity, it will drastically improve quality of reports. I know that I don’t report all I see along my route, as it’s just not possible to do while keeping complete control of the vehicle. I do remember the potholes that nearly eat my car, though, and would enter the report when I got to my desk.
Same thing with map errors. I can be more descriptive at a computer, so it would improve the quality of any report I might give.
Map errors can be reported from the Live Map, though, right?
Still, I think this would be eminently useful for the type of reports that are poorly handled by Waze at the moment. Having Construction and Pothole reports expire after two hours is absurd.
Any update on this?
Feed the Waze isn’t working well in Europe for weeks… Should make it work again, before expanding… It looks look the problems are on the Waze side, so not much to do about it…
I also work in a 911 center and would be able to report such closures and accidents remotely. I think this would be a very beneficial feature added to the US server.
I don’t think there is any doubt about how usefull this functionallity good be…
There are some people putting pressure to get it back up and running, but for now, without any luck…
Any help is welcome…
What help is needed?
Help to keep the pressure on Waze, so they prioritize it ‘correctly’ and it gets resolved.

Weeks?
Months!
So, don’t suspect it to be available on the www server any time soon. (or in the following months )
