How can we edit image size and position in the new wiki?

When wiki was migrated all of the image formatting was lost.

  • Many images used to be either on the right side or the left side of a block of text now the all images are above or below the block of text
  • Many images are really big now instead of thumbnails or more appropriately sized images.
  • There are no tools in the Discuss editor to resize or position images.

How can we resize and reposition the images?
Can you please add tools to resize and reposition images in the editing toolbar?

Here is an illustration of the issue.

Old wiki format

vs New wiki format

There are no tools or options here for images

Even as I write this post there are at least a few options to resize image. The options are not very granular but at least I can choose 100% 75% 50%.

However, when editing an imported wiki page even those minimal options are missing.

Looks like we may need to have admin ( @shirapashu et al) talk to the discourse folks about adding the image/text alignment theme described here:

They said it was depreciated in December, but still functional. Perhaps they can “undepreciate” it.

Hey @nzahn1 @ojlaw ,

Thank you for your feedback!

I’ve already submitted a feature request to our developers to explore potential solutions for displaying images alongside text.

I’ll be sure to update once I have more information.

Thanks!
Shira
