Is there a way to set Waze to get alerts but not driving directions? I know how to get to work, and I’d rather not be interrupted by directions to a place I know; instead, I’d like to get the alerts only.
I tried to set it to “minimal guidance”, and I got no alerts.
I tried to use it to just drive around, without setting a navigation endpoint, and I also got nothing.

Speaking of which, can I get alerts if I just use it to drive around, without using navigation? Or do I get alerts only when navigation is switched on?

Many thanks!

Alerts are very specific in when they pop up. If you have full nav on, then Mute from the main menu, you should still get alerts which are relevant to your driving direction and street. You will not get alerts for other posted hazards.
