Please can a section of King’s Drive in Eastbourne be unlocked? There is a speed camera here: https://world.waze.com/editor/?lon=0.26658&lat=50.78934&zoom=6&layers=BFTFFTTTTFTTTTTTTTTTTTFTT&segments=184747734
that does not exist.
There is no camera in the North direction only in the South direction. See here:

I noticed this whilst driving at the weekend so would be grateful if someone could unlock the segment so that it can be removed.
Thanks!
Hi Dan!
Cameras are independent of segments - the segment lock doesn’t have any effect on the camera. Cameras are effectively locked at the level of the editor who approved them.
I’ll be digging the laptop out shortly, so I’ll have a look at the camera for you.
Ok good to know - thanks Iain. I tried to un-approve the camera but it didn’t let me so if you could take a look when you have a sec that would be great.
Thanks!
Deleted.
As an aside, if you click on the camera, you will see the name of the editor who approved it, along with their level in brackets after the name. However treat the “Updated” date with caution! If somebody clicks “not there” from the client, it will appear that the approving editor has updated the camera on that date - when, in fact, it may be years since they approved or did anything to it!
I was wondering whether the UR posted there was to do with the camera, but I thought I should check so I sent the user a message asking for more information. I don’t think there’s anything else now that others have looked at that road and not seen anything else untoward, so I’ve sent the user another message and closed the UR.
Thanks John. It was me that reported the user error and it was just due to the camera so correctly closed. Thanks everyone!
Just checking then - did you get a message I sent asking for more information? You should have had a message into your Inbox in the client and also, I believe, an email?
Apologies John - I hadn’t used Waze since this morning so only just got the message now when I opened my Inbox in Waze (it didn’t come through as an email); I see you sent it at 17:36. I did however receive an email from Waze at 22:52 saying that my map problem had been solved, so thank you very much!
Hi dan-smith,
The map problem you reported on Waze on Aug 5 has been solved by woodvale; a Wazer like you, who has become active in updating and improving the Waze map for the benefit of the entire community.
While the problem was solved, it may take 10 days or so for the change to take effect in the app itself.
In the mean time, you can view the changes implemented by woodvale in the Waze map editor on our website. While you are there, you may want to try and edit the map yourself. It’s easy and any change you make will affect the quality of navigation for thousands of Wazers in your area, as well as credit you with extra points.
Check out the video on How to edit the Waze map, or the Editing Manual and visit the Waze forum to interact with experienced map editors.
Thanks,
The thank you button generates a SQL error, so I can’t get you off your duck
Thanks for letting me know!
