L4->L2 Downlock, Bromley Common

Hi, I’d like to request a L4 to L2 downlock on one segment of Magpie Hall Lane to connect up a parking lot road.

Maybe while you’re there you’d be so kind as to approve my adjustment to the adjacent school polygon so that it no longer includes the golf course car park?

Thanks,
Chris (L2)

This is the segment

Downlocked, and approved.

Ian

Excellent, thanks Ian, all done now.

Chris

PS I’ve seen and am intrigued by a class of URs that come from your good self but seem to be somehow automated, as if you have something on-board as you drive around that attempts to detect discrepancies in the map. I’ve left them alone of course but I’m mightily curious!

Are you referring to the UR’s which start “[WSLM]”?

When Waze first introduced speed limits, and asked editors to fill them in, there was no easy way for an editor driving around to record the correct speed limits. So some bright spark invented this web function. You install it on your phone, load the web page in your browser, and then hit just one button whenever you want to record a speed limit.

It uses the function that has always been there, of creating a Map Issue Report (UR) from the Waze livemap.

Then Waze introduced “proper” speed limit UR generation from the app, so I stopped using it.

Then Waze suppressed speed limit UR’s :frowning: , so I started using it again!

Ian

Yes, [WSLM] rings a loud bell. Oh right! That explains a lot. Thanks Ian. Am I allowed to investigate them if I see them or is this a kind of private note to self?

Chris

You can certainly investigate them if you like. But bear in mind that they have been created by an editor rather than a “normal” user, so there’s a good chance that editor will deal with them fairly quickly. It may be a better use of your time to look at other UR’s raised by “normal punters”.

Ian

Ok Ian understood. Thanks for explaining.

Chris
