L5 slip road closed

Per this UR the slip road is closed.

Per one.network, it’s closed 24-25 June.

Thanks.

Update: I expect this is not worth doing since it’ll be expired before the update reaches the app. What’s the minimum amount of time needed?

If a segment needs to be closed off (either as a one-way closure or both ways) to all traffic, then we can add a realtime closure which takes effect almost immediately, as this doesn’t require editing of the map data itself.

It’s only if the map data needs modifying (e.g. to set up a new turn restriction, or close off a segment to some types of vehicle whilst leaving it open to others) that we need to wait for the change to take effect in the app. The amount of time this takes varies - when everything is working well behind the scenes, there’s a tile update once a day which will include any changes made in the map data up to 0800 on the previous day, so changes would normally take around a day-ish to go live in the app. However, when things aren’t running so smoothly, these updates can get delayed by anything from a day to several weeks.

So typically for changes requiring map data modification, it’s good to have at least a couple of days advance notice so we can make sure the changes are made in time for the next tile update assuming everything’s working as planned.

Back to this particular example - whilst we could therefore simply add a realtime closure to the slip road segment and close it off within a few seconds, it’s now unclear as to whether or not the closure is still required - one.network currently lists it as “planned work about to start”, yet we know from the UR that the work has already started, so it’s unclear if this just means Transport Scotland haven’t changed that status, or if they’re trying to suggest that the closures are only in place overnight (the UR was raised at 21:21…) and therefore tonights closure is planned and about to start…
