Legacy Parkway

I’m wondering if someone can explain why Legacy Parkway is classified as a Freeway and not as a Major Highway? I would think it would be more like a Major Highway (like Highway 89) because it has a lower speed limit (55 mph) than a Freeway (65+ mph - Highway 89 is even higher @ 60+ mph), it does not allow semi-trucks (I-15 & Highway 89 do), and it only has four main entrances and exits.

Thanks!

Also, I think Legacy Parkway is technically classified as a Scenic Byway…

Because it’s a controlled access, high speed freeway for 100% of it’s length, regardless of what it’s called or classified as, also that classification and the slightly lower speed limit are likely to change after 2015 when the agreement with the enviro’s runs out and we can up the speed and add more lanes. Bangerter is a Major Highway as is Hwy 89 through Northern Davis county into South Ogden, both are divided but have stoplights and even uncontrolled access points.

That and I really don’t like the red of Major hwy’s, it’s too close to the super-slow traffic color Waze uses. But that’s not my real reason otherwise there would be no Major Hwy’s in this state.

And It’s not that scenic of a scenic byway either. Compared to some of the other Scenic byways in this state, most of which wind through beautiful canyons, next to mountain rivers. I think that designation is a joke, it’s not ugly, except for the dump at the mid point of the drive, but it certainly isn’t scenic.

Let’s suggest green perhaps?

That makes sense! Thanks for clarifying

By the same idea, shouldn’t State Route 201 everywhere East of 7200 West to I-15 be considered Freeway? West of that intersection, there are either light controlled intersections or yield-to-turn intersections…

That would work for me.

Good catch, the only reason I can think of for it to not be is that it does have the non-controlled intersections to the west, its’ not that long of a road, and I don’t drive it very often (if ever) to have considered it.

Oh and I’ve tried not to mess too much with the work of those who had done most of the editing before I became active, namely Denarius, five-pennies and mickeyblueeyes. All three of them had done great work and I’ve always been hesitant to change their product unless there was a clear problem that needed to be fixed. But go ahead and start converting it from just east of your linked area heading east. Let me know about any locked segments and I’ll unlock them for you.

I would put my vote towards making the 7200 East-ward as a Freeway. I noticed it was completed. But I noticed a possible error. And someone can correct me if I am wrong as I am new.

The possible error is that the Offramps for both North and South have a No Permit directional on the opposite side of the street (straight ahead) for the opposite Onramp. Living in this area, I do know it is permitted to go straight ahead, although it may be infrequent, it should say Green. Thoughts? If it’s an error, unlock the road and I’ll fix it or, you can.

Those red arrows are on purpose because although such travel is indeed legal, having those permissions set to green allows the client to route people that way as if that was the preferred route of travel. Meaning someone traveling on a fast route will get instructions to exit and then get right back on the fast road. This is a bug in the program, Waze is aware of it but at the time the guidance is still to set those straight through arrows to red.
