that’s as far as i know what to do as i cannot change myself.

Welcome to the editing community! I’m the senior editor in the Metro Vancouver area, based in Surrey and I’m also the Local Champ covering all of BC.

First of all, you’re doing the right thing as far as the unlock post request to have the changes made. Before we get too far into this, can you let me know what other edit’s you’ve done so far? When it comes to unlocks, to let you know, we don’t really like unlocking segments more than two levels, particularly if the segment lock is automatic (which is set based on amount of traffic flow). We also need to have some level of familiarity with the work an editor has already done so we have some confidence that you’re editing correctly.

As far as the speed limits go, typically we run speed limits to the nearest intersection unless there is a long stretch of road with a speed limit change. Can you update your post to indicate nearest intersections?

Thanks
Kayos

Hey There,

Well i live in chilliwack and drive down the road so i know the speeds which i posted are correct. I also went into google maps streetview and went down the road and found all the speed changes which are addressed correctly.

I dont mind putting time into editing and it seems speed limits are the easiest thing to do, but maybe there is something that i can spend my time doing otherwise which will help impact more? Just let me know.

The adddresses i gave you are the points the speed signs are at, that is a long stretch of road where the speed limit changes a few times so i posted the addresses to make it as accurate as possible.

Thanks for your time, just maybe let me know what i should be spending my time doing. I live in chilliwack which i am most familiar with but i dont see very many people submitting requests or user reports… etc.

We don’t have a very large user base in the Metro Vancouver area. There are a handful of editors out your way. In terms of what you can do, rather than starting with the speed limit, which is an important update to be made, make sure all of the L1 locked streets are already up to date and show the correct speed limits.

For Keith Wilson Rd, lets start by adding the residential addresses along that stretch of road. There are currently two ways to add residential addresses, you can use the House Number layer (there is a button on your left panel) or by adding a place (the pin looking button in the top right). The House Number layer is going to be replaced soon, so please use the place method, which also means you don’t need to have a segment unlocked to add the information.

When you add the place, you will need to convert it to residential and complete all of the information. Feel free to add that information on other segments in your editing area as well.

If you need help or guidance, please feel free to reach out to me directly at kayosontheraod@gmail.com and you can also chat with me on Google Hangouts that way too.

Good luck,

Hi,

Just reaching out on the old unlock request to see how you’re getting on. Do you need any help in your editing. I notice that I made a typo in my email address on my last post. It should read kayosontheroad@gmail.com

Sls appear current and editor is no longer active. Closing thread.
