I’d like to re-do the exit ramps at the Kings Avenue overpass at this permalink, but require the ramps dropped from L3 to L2 in order to do this.

The UR was submitted by me after driving the route. The audible prompts instructed “keep/stay left” when exiting Parkes Way onto the ramp, but then did not instruct to “turn right” onto Kings Ave, which I believe it should do.
I would like to sharpen up the angles of each ‘ramp’ and remove the street names in the ramps to force the instructions.
Please proceed, dropped these https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=149.14877&lat=-35.29884&layers=900&zoom=5&segments=90322812,141538847,137095137,90322802 for you (in case you consider to fix the opposite side as well, LiveMap indicates the same problem there
Hi Caradellino,
Thanks for opening those up. I’ve fixed the two that are marked (mine and yours). Will that do the job, do you think? I believe the angle of the two new joins will be enough to prompt for a ‘turn right’ and will also relatively closely resemble the appearance of the intersection.
I didn’t even look at the satellite image before, but in case you’re not aware, that intersection is no longer the round-about pictured, but an underpass/overpass arrangement.
Would you be able to open up the other ramps relating to that intersection as well? I’d like to fix the rest of them in a similar manner.
Also, do you know how Waze will behave if it has two unnamed ramp segments in a row? I’ve read that it will issue no instructions for multiple unnamed segments in a row (it will assume they are the same, given the name is the same). Will it then move to the next segment (which will be a right hand turn onto Kings Ave in my case) and issue instructions for that? Will it issue those instructions before the driver moves on to the second of the unnamed segments (which in the current setup here, would be after the driver has had to commit to one route or the other)?
Finally, the ramps are set to level -2, where they are actually above Parkes way. Should that be corrected while I’m at it? Or dose it not really matter, so long as the two levels are different?
Cheers.
Hi,
I was just having a look to see what you are up to here and noticed the elevations are all over the place… Most ramps are set at negative elevations and one is at -5 !
I’d suggest that Parkes Way be set at ground (currently -1), the ramps going up to kings Ave to 1 and the Kings Ave overpass to 2 (although 1 would also be ok).
Also the Moreshead Dr segment to the South is at 1 and should be ground.
I’m still a level 2 (just under 3k edits to go …) so can’t help, and anyway credit to Osprey06 for proposing this fix.
PS Osprey06 - when you’re done mark the start of this thread to ‘solved’. That way people know that the jobs done and don’t need to read the thread (unless the area is of particular interest). You haven’t done this on your previous unlock requests.
Cheers

Cheers for the tip Ali - will do in the future.
While you’re here, Ali, do you know the carpark at Russell at this permalink? I notice that you’ve edited a few of the segments. I’ve not driven in there since it was all redone, but there seem to be a couple of unconnected segments and there’s a turn permission highlighted set to disallowed. Is that actually the case irl? Everything else seems to be two way and all turns allowed. Should get you a little way towards your 3k

Hi Osprey,
Never been in that car park but I edited that carpark to simplify it including converting the entrances and exits into single lanes, removing a lot of unnecessary internal segments etc. I guess that turn restriction was an oversight. I probably could have deleted those two unconnected segments but as they are road type = ‘stairway’ I set the elevation to -5 as all undriveable segments should be set to -5.
Cheers
PS on the issue of marking a thread as ‘solved’, note that you can’t undo that. You can still carry on a discussion but it may get less views.
Alright, I think I got it all.
thanks for unlocking everything.
Hmm, I’m not sure this will provide a good result the way it is now, but anyway lot of things regardig junctions are, despite basic rules and experience, still a lot of trial and error.
Problem is as well, that neither aerial nor street view resemble the current situation. But maybe one suggestion: from street view there is (southbound) a sign indicating Kings Ave left leading to Russel and right leading to Sth Canberra. This might be a valid text for the split ramp giving a “keep left to Russel” instruction. Also the exit itself might have a name, which would have to be on the ramp leaving the freeway prior to the split.
…ah, and the angle in the split occurs to be to small IMHO, better have them aprox. 30° for each side.
Anyway, just give it a try, wait for the update and check the result, either on livemap or in the client (select a startpoint and an endpoint close by and have a route calculated) - I keep it unlocked until you have a satisfying result
