Level 5: Brookline, MA

Google Street View shows a No U-Turn sign on SB Hammond Point Pkwy at this intersection.

fixed.

on second thought, I looked at it further to see if that should have been a two-way so you could turn left off of that street NB – u-turns are expressly permitted: http://goo.gl/maps/lVnJs

I haven’t researched Mass. law, but my belief is that a No Left Turn sign also implicitly prohibits U-Turns.

Sure, that’s true for NB traffic where this exists: http://goo.gl/maps/lPDyK

However, SB traffic has a sign expressly permitting the U-turn: http://goo.gl/maps/lVnJs

See my links.

The picture’s so fuzzy, I thought that was a NO U-turn.

Bing Streetside has a pretty clear view of that sign. I’ve never seen a sign like that. Must be regional. The ones I’ve seen are a black and white sign with U-Turn spelled out.
