You may be right. If so, it doesn’t matter so much now. We (finally) have confidence that Waze won’t route onto a non-drivable segment; so much so that it is now recommended practice to create a “junction” at railway level crossings.
I still prefer footpaths not to be linked to roads, but only because nobody has yet changed Validator to stop whinging about it. (Although that’s irrelevant at the moment, as nobody has yet changed Validator to cope with the new WME release).
