My Level: 3
Reason for request: Connect PLR to Totowa Rd. Was added by editor in Feb 2015, but never connected. I just removed the overlaps that existed here in the PLR.

You know, I just changed them based on what I’ve been seeing in Parsippany and other areas done by other editors. I originally had all the roads as “Streets” except for the first segment to the gate, which was a “Private Road”, but have been seeing private communities mapped completely with all private roads.
Is that what you are referring to?

Yes. Private roads occur the penalty when transitioning out of the end segment. It’s best practice to have all entrances / gates set as private but leave the interior roads as street so they create their own network.

Done. Guess I should stop second guessing these things when I see others.
Not that it probably matters, but should the “Private” segment be before the gate or after?
In this case, there is only one gate.

You can always check the wiki for the latest guidance. For placement, you want to make sure you start the segment where the it diverges from a non-private segment. You have the start point correct. Thanks. I’ve read the Private Installations a few times, but nothing beats doing one to understand what’s going on.
