# Missing roadworks - M20, Kent

Hi Folks,
I’ve just been looking into a UR around a set of roadworks on the [M20 in Kent](https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=0.42499&lat=51.30923&layers=15333&zoom=6&mode=0&mapProblemFilter=0&mapUpdateRequestFilter=0&venueFilter=1). There is a 50mph speed restriction slightly longer than the width of the junction and sliproads, however, it isn’t being reported / picked up by Elgin(?).
Since replying to the reporter, I’ve discovered the following link:

It looks like it’ll be going on until November, but it (unhelpfully) doesn’t suggest anything about the speed limits on the motorway below, and how long they are likely to be affected.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this?
One option would be to leave it as-is and rely upon people opening their eyes and looking at the big red & white circles at the side of the road,…!

We don’t normally worry about temporary or variable speed limits as they are difficult to manage and the front viewing portal should be used at all times 😉
however, if it’s a 24/7 restriction and going to be around for several months then I think it probably is worth adding - and particularly any where average speed cameras are installed.
This probably qualifies so I’ve dropped this section and the slip road to 50 and added a roadworks UR as a note to other editors. We’ll soon see some URs as and when it returns to 70!
Is that sufficient or do you think it needs to be extended beyond the slip roads?
Annoyingly most councils do not seem to use the ‘Temporary speed limit’ report that is available in Elgin so it’s often hard to confirm the details.
Digging into the newsletter on the [Kent.gov.uk](http://Kent.gov.uk) site I found this:

… but no details about the extent or duration of the limit.

Many thanks for doing that.
The segments that you’ve changed should be more than sufficient for the job. It extended slightly either side of the sliproads, but we’re talking about a few tens of metres, so definitely not enough to warrant splitting segments.
By “duration”, do you mean the date it’ll be lifted? If so, on the KCC link, it says “November”, so I suppose that narrows it down to 30 days! :-\ I don’t drive along there often, but can make a detour on the way to/from work closer to the time if necessary (or as you suggested, wait for the URs to flood in! ).

Exactly - though these things never quite seem to run to plan and tend to be finished when they’re finished!
