The new speed limits come into effect on 7 February 2025, with no transition period. When will the changes be implemented in the app?
Unfortunately updating speed limits is a manual process that is undertaken by volunteer map editors. This means that the implementation of the changes will take quite some time.
If you know of specific locations with either the rural speed limit sign or a new 60, please report them to us.

There is a road just after the N25 between Waterford and New Ross, the R723, the previous limit on this road was 80km dropping back to 60km as the road enters New Ross, the old 80km section and increased back to 100km since last Friday 7th Feb. All road signs of 80km have since been replaced with 100km signs also.
Thanks for pointing this out. The speed limit changes announced last week only affect local roads (those with a number starting with L) and not regional roads (those with a number starting with R), so for the change you mentioned: would you be able to drive along that road and report a map issue in Waze at the location of each sign? That would help us update the limits and make sure they change at exactly the right location. Thanks!
Hi there @world_01yglood, I just wanted to give an update on this. In the past week, HQ has pushed through an update to change the speed limits on all Rural/Local (L) roads to reduce the speed limit from 80km/hr to 60km/hr. This change should already be live. If you notice any issues, please feel free to create a report in the app.
