Urban mobility works create more access for drivers and pedestrians in Canarinho

Section 1: Will become One-Way in the section between Major Williams Ave. and Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes Ave. (center-to-neighborhood direction).

Section 2: Will become One-Way in the section between Major Williams Ave. and Cel. Pinto St. (neighborhood-to-center direction).

Prof. Agnelo Bitencourt St.

Will become One-Way in the section between Civic Center Plaza (Praça do Centro Cívico) and Major Williams Ave. (center-to-neighborhood direction).

The median at the intersection of Major Williams Ave. and Major Manoel Correia St. was also closed.

AIRTON ROCHA - Asphalt paving on Tepequém St. improves accessibility for neighborhood residents

“Tepequém St., in the Dr. Airton Rocha neighborhood, received a new access point of about 220m, connecting the Pérola 1 and 2 housing complexes. Previously, the stretch was impassable because it crosses a stream (igarapé). Now the site features a drainage gallery and new asphalt, ensuring greater convenience and safety for residents traveling along the road.”

Changes on Ville Roy Ave. Aim to Ensure Greater Safety and Traffic Flow

• The traffic light at the intersection of Ville Roy Ave. and Santos Dumont Ave. will now have 4 phases, expanding access routes to the neighborhoods. Drivers traveling in the Caçari – Downtown direction who wish to access the Canarinho neighborhood will be able to make a left turn, which was not allowed before.

• Drivers traveling on Ville Roy Ave. in the Downtown – Caçari direction will also be able to make a left turn to access the Aparecida neighborhood. This turn was also previously not possible.

• At the intersection with Major Williams Ave., the traffic light will also operate in 4 phases, allowing drivers on Ville Roy Ave. to turn both right and left, accessing both sides of Major Williams Ave.

Intersection of Ville Roy Ave. and Pres. Juscelino Kubitschek Ave.

The changes are necessary due to the closure of the intersection of Ville Roy Ave. and Pres. Juscelino Kubitschek Ave., a location that saw heavy vehicle traffic and a record of serious accidents.

Traffic light changes on Av. das Guianas improve urban mobility in the capital

“Drivers should be aware of the following changes:

  • The traffic light at the intersection of Av. Ville Roy and Av. das Guianas will now operate in four phases, expanding access routes. Drivers coming from Ville Roy (next to the bus station) will be able to access Av. das Guianas heading towards the Trevo roundabout, which was previously not allowed.
  • Additionally, drivers traveling on Av. Ville Roy toward the neighborhood will be able to access Av. das Guianas toward the Macuxi Bridge.
  • Another change occurred on Av. Benjamin Constant: drivers will be able to access Av. das Guianas toward the Macuxi Bridge. Meanwhile, those coming from Av. General Sampaio will also be able to access Av. das Guianas toward the Trevo roundabout.”

New Traffic Light on Ville Roy Increases Driver Safety in the Capital

The traffic light will operate as follows:

  • Drivers on Ville Roy Ave, both in the Downtown-to-neighborhood direction (Caçari) and in the opposite direction, will be able to make right or left turns.
  • There has been a change in traffic direction on Pedro Teixeira St, in the section between Ville Roy Ave and José Faustino da Silva St, in the Canarinho neighborhood. As a result, drivers on Pedro Teixeira St traveling from the Canarinho neighborhood toward Aparecida will not be able to access Ville Roy Ave.
  • Drivers on Pedro Teixeira St traveling from the Aparecida neighborhood toward Canarinho will be able to proceed normally toward Getúlio Vargas Ave through the traffic light.

New Traffic Light Installed in Boa Vista to Improve Urban Mobility

“The City of Boa Vista installed a new traffic light on Centenário Ave., one of the main roads in the capital’s west zone, which sees intense vehicle and pedestrian traffic, especially during peak hours. The equipment, which replaced a roundabout, aims to organize traffic and increase safety for drivers and pedestrians traveling through the region.

  • Drivers will be able to go straight or make a left turn;
  • Those wishing to return toward Av. Brasil must turn left at the new traffic light and follow R. Ramiro Damasceno da Silva, Tv. Centenário, and R. Raimundo da Silva Briglia, thus returning to Centenário Avenue.

Jóquei Clube – Av. Brasil Direction

  • Drivers will be able to go straight or turn right;
  • To return toward the Jóquei Clube neighborhood, it will be necessary to access R. Raimundo da Silva Briglia, Tv. Centenário, and R. Ramiro Damasceno da Silva, accessing the traffic light and Centenário Ave. again.

  • Drivers on Glaycon de Paiva Ave., in the neighborhood–downtown direction or the opposite, will be able to access Terêncio Lima Ave. both to the right and to the left.
  • Those on Terêncio Lima Ave. will also be able to access Glaycon de Paiva Ave. both to the right and to the left.”

ANNOUNCEMENT - Sections of streets and avenues begin to be temporarily closed starting this week

The Municipal Traffic Superintendence (SMTRAN) has begun the temporary closure of streets and avenues due to the assembly of the structure for Boa Vista Junina 2026. The measure aims to ensure safety for workers, drivers, and pedestrians traveling through the area.

This Tuesday, the 2nd, the section of Forte São Joaquim Ave. at Capitão Ene Garcez Ave. was closed.

On Saturday, the 6th, the section of Capitão Ene Garcez Ave. at Major Williams Ave. (downtown/neighborhood direction), Arnaldo Brandão St. at Ene Garcez, and Dom José Nepote St. at Ene Garcez will also be closed.

Intersection of Glaycon de Paiva and Terêncio Lima Avenues undergoes traffic changes starting this Wednesday, the 10th

Following technical evaluations, the traffic light will return to three-phase operation, resuming its previous configuration.

With the change, drivers traveling on Av. Glaycon de Paiva, both in the neighborhood–downtown and the opposite direction, will no longer be able to turn left onto Av. Terêncio Lima. Drivers on Av. Terêncio Lima will continue to turn both left and right to access Av. Glaycon de Paiva.

São Bento Streets to Receive Speed Bump Installation Starting This Friday, the 24th

This Friday, the 24th, Antônio Silvino de Alexandre and Rio Jauaperi streets, located in the São Bento neighborhood, will be closed for the installation of speed bumps. The work will continue until next Monday, the 27th, when the construction of the speed bumps is completed.

ANNOUNCEMENT - City Hall Closes Roads for Speed Bump Installation

To reinforce traffic safety, Boa Vista City Hall is closing sections of Av. Mário Homem de Melo in the Liberdade neighborhood, as well as Santo Antônio do Abonari and Cruzeiro do Sul streets in São Bento, for the installation of speed bumps starting this Friday, the 7th. The roads are expected to be reopened next Monday, the 10th.
