DNIT Warns of Total Closure of the Bridge over the Araguaia River on BR-230/TO
“The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) informs that, this Friday afternoon (17th), a total closure of the bridge over the Araguaia River, located on BR-230/TO, will be carried out to perform a technical inspection inside the central span (structural box girder).
The intervention is part of the actions to assess the bridge’s structural conditions and will be conducted by a specialized technical team, which has been working at the site since April 14th, performing tests and technical surveys.
The closure will be carried out by the DNIT technical team with the aim of ensuring the safety of users during the execution of the services. The closure period is expected to extend throughout the weekend, and may vary according to the conditions necessary for the completion of the inspection.”

Regarding the closure: the bridge remains closed with no scheduled reopening. Just as happened with the Estreito - MA / Aguiarnópolis - TO bridge, there will be ferries to provide free crossing for people and vehicles, but they are not yet available.
The guidance is to use alternative routes.
The bridge closure is in effect until January 31, 2027.

“The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) informs that, as a preventive measure, it has decided to completely close traffic on the bridge over the Tocantins River, located on BR-235/TO, km 163.89, between the municipalities of Pedro Afonso (TO) and Tupirama (TO).”

DNIT partially reopens bridge over the Tocantins River on BR-235/TO for light vehicles
“The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) is beginning a new phase in the operation of the bridge over the Tocantins River, located at km 164 of BR-235/TO, between the municipalities of Pedro Afonso and Tupirama. Starting next Tuesday (25), the structure will be partially opened to light vehicle traffic, in accordance with the conditions established by the Department and the signage installed at the site.”
