Border Rd in Waltham
City of Waltham doesnt recognize the road.
Mass Road Inventory doesnt even have the above segment in it.
It is gated at certain times of the day. 10mph speed limit is probably not enforceable if the road doesnt exist in any records, however I can personally attest there is a white speed limit sign (MUTCD compliant) for 10mph .
Access to the new shopping area and when you drive along it there is signage for the stores. Should this be Local Street, Private, or Parking Lot Road and review the whole shopping center?
I was leaning towards Local but gates throw a wrench into the works. How do the gates work? What time of day are they used, etc. If the gates are ad hoc or un predictable I’d go with Private Road.
I would keep it as it is. I’ve also personally driven that road. I suspect Mass Road Inventory doesn’t have it b/c waltham has yet to supply that information, although it’s been there for at least a couple years already.
I suspect the person who put in the timed restrictions knows the hours that it’s usually open, as they’re very specific hours, and unless there’s a complaint would just leave it.
I also have no issues about the SL setting if there’s a white posted 10 MPH sign - I don’t want to be in the business of deciding if a regulatory sign was legitimately posted.
