I am having an issue with a junction.

I am not even sure there is a roundabout there, but even if there is it is mapped wrong

[https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=0.27961&lat=51.86685&layers=2981&zoom=8](https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=0.27961&lat=51.86685&layers=2981&zoom=8)

But whatever I try, I can’t get the junction right.

What am i doing wrong?

Can anyone let me know how to fix, so I can learn.

If you don’t know the road personally, assume the editor had good reason for adding the roundabout.

For some reason the way it has been set up means that neither arm of the primary street nor your side road are attached to the roundabout.

The simplest way to solve this is to do the following:

1. Delete the roundabout.
2. Move the ends of the roads so that they are all joined together (you do not need to change the turn restriction arrows)
3. Create a roundabout centred on the junction of the roads (make sure the roundabout is at least 8m in diameter
4. Change the roundabout to primary street, cleck the word edit, tick the two ‘none’ boxes and click apply.

Then you can save your changes and you should have a fully functioning junction, if not let us know and we can have another look.

All the best

The only way I can think of to create a roundabout like this is to create it correctly and then use the bridging tool to join adjacent segments - if you go all around the roundabout bridging each pair of segments in turn, you’ll be left with a roundabout consisting of a single segment with one junction node still present, just as is the case here (the Dunmow Road arm is connected, the others aren’t).

Quite why you’d want to do such a thing is a whole other matter, of course, and if I were a local AM I’d be planning a site visit ASAP to see whether or not the roundabout really does exist - I’d like to assume this is merely the work of a rather over-enthusiastic new editor who got a bit carried away playing with all the tools presented to them in WME and could benefit from a bit of friendly guidance, but there’s always that niggly worry that it could be the work of someone prepared to put in a bit of effort to hide the fact that they’re deliberately trying to break the map - given that it looks the same as a properly constructed roundabout would appear in WME, until you start clicking on it and realise just how wrong it actually is, it could easily have gone unnoticed until the URs started to roll in.

Thanks 🙂

I found no evidence of a roundabout there. have looked at a few other roads round there and the same username is on each of them where there are errors.

Have corrected where I am allowed, although many others still remain. Looks like an over enthusiastic editor, but roads need to be joined to others and not be left short. And there are several of them ☹

I will need to flag up one error as I can’t join a road to a level 4 road, as I do not have permission.

Will go through others I can find in my editing area. Others outside will have to be done by someone else.

perhaps drop some URs using [https://www.waze.com/livemap?lon=0.27961&lat=51.86685&zoom=17](https://www.waze.com/livemap?lon=0.27961&lat=51.86685&zoom=17) if it’s outside your area

This just needs the exit turns enabled [https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=0.27950&lat=51.86699&layers=2981&zoom=8&segments=166377353](https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=0.27950&lat=51.86699&layers=2981&zoom=8&segments=166377353)

(try Shift-Z and [https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=76488](https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=76488) )

I am glad somebody has brought this up.

I have see the same Editor who’s name begins with “A” being involved here. They closed 2 UR’s I was dealing without saying why. Then I went and looked at another UR in the Harlow area and they fixed the problem without answering the UR. :o

So how do we complain about an editor who does these sort of things? 🕶

I am wondering if the M12 motorway will make an appearance in my area? 😃

I think it’s a bit more serious than someone closing a few UR’s. Have a look around [Great Dummow](https://www.waze.com/en-GB/editor/?env=row&lon=0.36025&lat=51.87163&layers=900&zoom=4), outside my editing area but there appears to be a number of broken roundabouts several with new segments added that couldn’t be attached due to lock levels and far too many restricted turns for a small town.

The editor in Great Dunmow has already been noticed and we have sent them a PM.

I’ll have a quick look and try and fix the worst of the problems.

I will have to wait until tomorrow lunchtime to go through Dunmow since it is on the edge of my area.

Looking at it, there’s plenty to keep someone busy tidying it up. Can’t remember seeing so many extraneous nodes.

Property Guru is having a go, but I think he’s stuck with lock levels on a few of the roads.

[This](https://www.waze.com/en-GB/editor/?env=row&lon=0.37618&lat=51.86144&layers=4069&zoom=8&segments=278820118) should probably be high on the list for fixes.

Indeed - have fixed many, but struggle with some due to lock levels. Others are outside my editable area.

Need a higher rank LOL

Essentially there are a lot of footpaths created, roads divided where it is not required, laybys created, roundabouts in footpaths, roundabouts on private residential homes etc…

Is one where I can’t fix, as the main road has a higher rank

All turns need allowing from the B1417 and the B1008

(there is now no road to the right, so that is deleted)

Great Dunmow is now back in working order. The aerials and GSV are quite out of date there and it’s apparent that the editor concerned has some up-to-date local knowledge - in addition to his questionable ideas about editing.

If we can “bring him into the fold”, he appears to be keen to update the map.
