I’ve seen on some places on the forum that since the new update railroads now appear in the Waze App (some people say it only appears when in default day colors).
Does this mean railroads will soon be mapped as such?

As far as we heared, it was not the intention to already let them show up, but it is planned for a future version they will start showing up.
So yes, in some time, we will have to start mapping railroad as railroad… But firstly there should be a new function implemented, to add notes to the map, in the WME…

The railroad segment type was commonly used as a note on the WME side, as it didn’t show up on the map in the client…
It was used to mark roadworks or clarification for temporary situations…
And i know the thread… I was on the meeting in Israel, where these topics were discussed and planned ;-). (planned as in discussing the order and reasons, not the exact timing, obviously)… 
Okay That sums it up I think. It’s more like a “featurebug” or a “bugfeature”
