No.

Based on the California Classification Map, it is “Major Collector”
And this is not a through route so it can remain as a Primary Street.

This is being discussed in depth on how to classify the roads. - https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=276&t=85397
Table below is part of the proposal of how to match the classification to Waze terms.

Jemay,

I understand what you are saying with this, but i have some real issues in Barstow. Main St in Barstow has parts that are 4 lane road speed limit 25 mph and stop lights block to block. This road is classified as a principal arterial and is drawn as a major highway. I just don’t think that makes a whole lot of sense.

Main St is classified as “Other Principal Arterial” so it is a Major Highway (MH)

The Functional Classification is what we are going by and that is the objective way we are now setting the road types by. Doing it based on speed or any other subjective way is a problem because what one person might think will be different than another person. So using what the DOT has designated takes the subjective out and is now is objective.

loki, by now I’m hoping you’ve read the responses in the California FC thread which specifically address this particular issue. If you have any further questions about it, please feel free to bring them up there. FC is a difficult concept to grasp in some areas, and it is important to understand. We’d like to help.
