and what about the A12 a bit south of Willebroek ?? it is a freeway, with a few crossroads with red lights !
(never understood that freeway btw… but one of the better exemples of weirdness)
The parts that have traffic lights are Major Highway.
I’ve recently noticed one thing with TTS. If you have an exit ramp named like “R0: Namen”, waze will say “Turn (right/left) on R0 toward Namen”. So colon (“:”) is translated by “toward” or “en direction de” or (likely but not tested) “richting”.
So I propose we enforce this naming convention by first, writing it to the wiki. Optionally, in a second step, could it be solved using one of the “projects” I see you’re leading in this forum ?
That’s the french tts-voice.
Whe cannot change anything to that for now.
It will be investigated what are the possibilities in the future.
Too bad… It’s already working like this for a few exits like this one : https://world.waze.com/map-editor/?zoom=5&lat=50.84417&lon=4.71766&layers=BFTFFTTTTFTTFTTTTTFTTTTFT&segments=144476954
Correct, but it’s not according to the belgium editing rules, so we would like to look for a better solution.
Hi , one question about the rules.
Today i’ve gone to Ikea Anderlecht , it’s of course in one of the 19 bilingual communes in belgium.
I read on the wiki : Dans les 19 communes de la région de la capitale, la version française doit être utilisée. La liste des noms de lieu indique quelle est la langue officielle.
But most of the road name’s are in Dutch , and more problematic most of the ramps of the speedway are also in neederlands (Afrit , richting …) …
And it’s seems to be the same problem in a big part of bruxelles
Probably something to check or change here, especially for the speedway.
The brussels area needs a lot of love. A few weeks ago I did cleanup the city borders. That was the first step in this project. Now we need a volunteer to go on with cleanup each of the 19 brussels cities 1 by 1. Indeed streetnames is a lot of work.
Si if you think you can and would help with this project, let us know!
ok , Yes of course i’m going to help you , but first i need to finish the area near charleroi , i’ve already done a lot of job (kiss, street name , roundabout ect…) but still somes area to do on the east of charleroi.
fyi… i have also started some cleaning in Brussels… but… some! ![]()
There is idd a lot of work to do there.
As foxrpg mentionned, there is a lot of streetnames that doesn’t respect the rules.
Another problem is that some streetnames are frequently renamed by ‘fresh’ new user… so it’s not always easy to maintain. I’ve already check some street and a few weeks ago, somebody as changed the name. It’s sometimes quite frustrating :o
It’s important to get in contact with such editors. Point them to the rules. If they don’t respond or don’t agree, you can ask Steven, Peter or me to help you with it.
If you also want to help in the Brussels area, what you allready doing I understand, we should work a little bit more systematic I think. City by city.
Let me create a few new ‘short term project’ for that later today.
Feel free to also add some other short term projects in other areas… ![]()
Added to the short term projects subforum…
@ Steven…Sure we can add more projects, but I don’t see much response to the current projects :?
 I would, but I recently got an enlarged list of my own projects… I was almost ready to beg  for extra projects, but I’m fine for now ![]()
(and I can’t say my area couldn’t use some love  )
I was thinking of a more scattered region of projects… now there were 2 of Wallonie, now there are some more in Brussels… Not everyone is up to or interested in those regions…
I also see some ‘love needing areas’ in the northwest of Antwerp, for example, or Sint-Truiden, Ninove-Galmaarden, …
The last couple of weeks i’ve been working South of Ghent, coming to the border with French speaking Belgium… ![]()
That’s true, but there simply is more important work in Wallonia.
But you can add project as well in other areas offcourse ![]()
Indeed… but not everyone is already up for this ‘more important’ work… ![]()
Some other ‘less important’ but as usefull work could be done by people climbing the ladder of editing skills… ![]()
I prefer not take part actively to a project for now.
Baby incoming in 3 weeks and for now when I come on WME is not for long time. Too much thing to prepare before the birth.
So I try to edit area but only near some UR. I know is not the best way to work in Brussels. Beter working city by city as you mentionned… but it’s better than nothing! ![]()
Maybe I will be able to take again the lead of a project this summer… ![]()
I saw also the project for small city in Wallonie but they are out of my editing area.
I saw also the project for small city in Wallonie but they are out of my editing area.
I’ve been told it would be possible to gain temporarily ‘editor abilities’ in the required area
oups…good to know… I saw only the name of the city and so, i didn’t read the post! :?
