Recently, gantries with surveillance cameras were installed on BR-210 in Macapá/AP:
On May 4, 2026, Eric (@world_3tvn98xd) sent a photo. He had opened a UR reporting that they were new speed cameras.
I submitted an inquiry to DNIT (via Fala.BR), which replied:
“Please be informed that the aforementioned equipment was installed by the Federal Highway Police and is used for Electronic Lane Monitoring, involving processing, analysis, automatic number plate recognition (OCR), and image forwarding.
Therefore, the referred devices are used for PRF/AP Electronic Enforcement and the equipment is not a speed camera.”
