Report Correction in Brooklyn, New York

Hello,

I have been trying to report a known red light camera that I did not see listed on the map. However I have been having a lot of trouble trying to have its closest approximate location correctly indicated. On my recent attempt, the marker was placed a block north of the actual location. The marker should be on the northwest side of Bushwick Avenue closest to Flushing Avenue compared to the marker seen around Bushwick Avenue and Cook Street. Below is the link to the correct approximate location for this report.

Please advise. Thank you

The livemap link does not really work for this. Please leave a link to the location in the editor (WME). There is a permalink icon in the lower right corner. Find the street that has the camera, highlight it, zoom in, then right click the permalink and copy it.

I hope this link works correctly.

The camera is located right under the trees facing towards Flushing Avenue on Bushwick Avenue.

That link worked, thank you.

I moved it and approved it, hopefully positioned correctly and facing correctly. “Facing correctly” always means that in the editor, it faces the BACK of the cars that it is monitoring (i.e., it photographs them AFTER they have passed the camera).

You can drive the street and see if you get warned. Note that Waze gives the warning a good distance away, so I would strart traveling about half a mile away or more on Bushwick, in order to test it.

Helo again,

I was recently in the area (though not along the exact path where the camera is) and the map has it placed about 2 blocks north along Bushwick Avenue. I have been debating on if it might be beat for me to pull over to the side of the physical location and attempt to place a marker there so I can try to indicate where the error is.

That would actually be awesome. A picture would be fantastic too if you could.

I just went through the area on foot about a half hour ago. I tried to mark the physical location 4 to 5 times with the result of no marker being placed. The option to photograph the trap was not an available option so I had to take a standalone photo. I hope this will help.

Thank you. I will try to get to this early next week. If you don’t hear from me by Monday, fell free to ping.

Sure thing.

Th existing Waze camera was pretty much dead on in the right place. I nudged it a little bit and approved it. It could be that it is the camera you added, but wasn’t showing up because it was not approved. Check it in the editor.

The camera reported is now in the correct location. Thank you for your assistance.
