Tried to post problem to live map with No Joy.

Request assistance from AM’s or Veterans editors. No information in wiki and was not sure if this should be identified. Information below.

The Slidell Rest Area on Southbound I-59 (Milepoint 2.2) will re-open for passenger vehicles only and only during daylight hours, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013. The facility will close daily at 5:00 p.m. and re-open daily at 7:00 a.m., continuing until further notice. During this time, crews will be constructing new sidewalks, pavilions, and constructing a new courtyard to the main building.

Permit/Detour - Emergency vehicles will have access.

I wasn’t aware that it was closed. It is on the Waze map as if it was open.

Do you know if the rest area ramps/parking lot will be closed at night as well, or does this just refer to the onsite facilities?

Regardless, I don’t know that there’s much we can really do, because restricting the ramps at night probably wouldn’t have much of an effect if you’re setting the rest area as your destination anyway. If Waze has to get to that one segment, and there’s only one way onto it, then I imagine it would take the very high penalty and put you there anyway.
