Hi. Today I noticed this section has been closed off in both directions with concrete barriers so probably a long term closure.

This section of road has also been closed for a few months and probably will be closed for the long term. There are still traffic lights here but these have been deactivated.

Changed both segments to stairway

Another temporary road closure. The road in front of the US Embassy has been closed to traffic since last Friday. I don’t know when it’s due to reopen but probably not until next Sunday morning (17 December).

Dears,

in general, does google maps update roads from waze? since the road from Al Urdun St. up to Istiklal St. is still accessible on GMaps while it’s closed in waze !!!

No, Google Maps and Waze are separate map sources. They share some information (traffic related), but information about roads not. The road in Waze is closed because I closed it - as in reality that road does not exist anymore. You may report this to Google, but not in this Waze related forum :)…

Maybe one more thing to add: Just use Waze and ask your friends to do the same :)… As it is always the current one, at least, we are always implementing new changes to map based on the reports from drivers. For that reason it is great when Waze community in Jordan is bigger, because more people report some issues they find and we can fix more issues related to map to make it the best possible ;)…

I think I’ll move since it started supporting android auto, reporting to Google never worked.

Good choice ;)… We are always here to support you and it is always great to have more local guys available when we need to consult something they could locally check. If you would like to help more, you may start editing Waze map yourself (of course reading tutorials before is much needed) :slight_smile:

Welcome! This is also important because as more people use Waze, the Waze app will be able to give better routes to avoid traffic. I’ve have noticed better routes in Amman over the past two months.

When a road is closed we need to choose dates for the start and finish dates for example during road construction on the airport road or when the road in front of the US Embassy was closed off.

Could you please explain why the road is closed and when you think it will open again? If the road won’t be re-opened or a long time or permanently closed, we can mark the segments accordingly.

I have no idea when are they going to re-open it again, it’s been closed for more than 6 months, it was closed because a lot of fatal accidents happened there. No idea when will it be opened, but my father and brother lived there, I’ll tell if it will be opened again :slight_smile:

I’m sorry to hear there were many accidents. I have marked the segments as permanently restricted to all traffic.
