Hello, still a bit new to all this so no idea how to ‘fix’ it
https://www.waze.com/livemap?lon=-4.00115&lat=51.64418&zoom=16
When travelling north on ystrad road to this junction (which Ystrad road actually continues from but with bruce road to the left) there is no ‘turn right’ or ‘straight ahead’ instruction which could lead people to overshoot the junction.
Could someone either fix it or provide instructions on how to? (i’m only a level 1 so I suspect I cannot).
Thanks
It’s a question of tinkering with the angles at which the segments meet at the junction.
I’ve attached “before” and “after” screenshots:
The original angle of 143 degrees was close enough to straight ahead, and the road name didn’t change, so Waze said nothing. It would probably (I didn’t check) also give an incorrect “turn right” if travelling west to north as the road name changed.
Now the angles are 90 degrees, which should give a “turn left” even though the road name stays the same; and 180 degrees, which should keep Waze silent for the straight on even though the road name changes.
A general introduction to map editing may be found at UK Quickstart.
You won’t see the helpful junction angles on the native editor, they’re created by one of the many invaluable scripts which you can add.
Have a go yourself next time, and keep asking for advice.
