[Script] UROverview Plus v4.18 (20251103)

That’s just how they were imported. The data from the import was just GPS coordinates, and when it was imported all we had were areas (Landmarks). Any gas station you see like that is like that because it has been untouched by an editor (or, if it has been touched by an editor, it hasn’t been done properly).

I know that.
I was simply answering Tony’s question on how it could be a point and a small square at the same time.
It wasn’t… it was the default import that had never been corrected.

Can i ask for one more special icon, to record notes to other editors? To make sure the common word NOTE isn’t accidentally used inappropriately, I suggest [WMENote] and some sort of notepad-ish icon, or attention icon (so long as it doesn’t look anything like the normal exclamation bubble).

I agree, though I think [NOTE] would be fine. I don’t ever expect anyone to start their report in the app with [NOTE].

This would be amazing. I would like to add possibly making it something more simple, as a lot of these "notes"are submitted in motion. What about just WME or Editor?

I’d be reluctant to over-simplify the keyword - as sketch suggests, [NOTE] would be fine because the chances of anyone entering that as part of a normal comment are pretty slim to non-existent, whereas your suggestion of using “WME” or “Editor” start to skate a bit too close to the “could reasonably be used in a normal comment” group of words we ought to avoid.

To be quite honest, anyone serious enough about editing to want to use these keywords whilst on the move really ought to be using a phone keyboard that allows for stuff like this to be inserted from a list of predefined text on entry of a shortcode.

On my Android phones I’ve been using the “Auto Text Keyboard Lite” app (formerly known as FireKeys Free) which lets me define 10 shortcuts, one of which is defined so that “lft” can be expanded to "Please leave for Twister-UK: " - this could just as easily be defined with "[NOTE] Please leave for Twister-UK: " as the expansion text, without requiring me to type anything extra each time I submit a report. AFAIK, similar functionality exists over in the iOS world.

Correct. It is part of the OS.

Can we add [Closure] as well, if it hasn’t been added already? This will be for documenting road closures that have been submitted to Waze.

It’s already active as [CLOSURE] along with [EVENT], and [CONSTRUCTION].

Minor request:
Please add the bold function/choice to the pop-up.

I have one ‘window’ with lots of tabs to different things that I run all the time.
I like to open a UR in a NEW WINDOW (not a new TAB), so I can open other tabs related to that task and then close them all at the same time when I finish with the UR.
Currently, I need to right click on the ‘open in new WME tab’ line and select the ‘open link in new window’ line.

Yeah, it is a very minor annoyance, but I figured it can’t hurt to ask.

3.18 introduces the following changes/updates:

  • Added custom markers for [NOTE]-tagged URs.
  • Re-opened map problems are now marked as such, and can be filtered.
  • Places/landmarks/venues/whatever you call them can now be filtered by category.
  • Events which occurred yesterday but less than 24 hours ago are now listed in their popup as having happened 1 day ago, rather than today…
  • Optimised filtering code to minimise unnecessary operations.

The requests from bz2012 for popups on restricted turns and an open in new window link are being looked into, though at present I can’t give any guarantees either of them will appear.

Firefox+Greasemonkey version: https://greasyfork.org/scripts/1952-uroverview-plus-uro
Chrome Web Store version: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/uroverview/amdamgkgchnbaopmphhjapmjcdghdphi

“Hide URs less than x days” is not working properly.
If I check the box starting at “1” and arrow up to increase, when I transition from “7” to “8” the map is cleared. I’m looking for some specific URs that are over 90 days old.

Likewise, “Hide URs more than x days” fully populates the map at 8 days.

This is on the Chrome version.
Firefox is better (but not usable for editing ATM).

Edit: Seems to vary by zoom level. Zooming in allows for using higher numbers.

Edit 2: Confirmed on Chrome as well… Once I get to zoom 4 I can go to 90 days and higher, but that is a very small area for what I am looking for.

Unable to replicate this in either FF or Chrome, and URO+ itself doesn’t care about zoom levels anyway, it simply filters whatever data is presented to it by WME.

So if you’re still not seeing older URs at wider zoom levels, it sounds as if your copy of WME isn’t loading those older URs in the first place. What happens if you disable all extensions and reload WME - do the older URs appear then, or are they still missing until you start zooming in?

Ya…
On Zoom level 2, I can see nothing older than 19 days, On Zoom level 1, I can see nothing older than 9 days, Zoom 3 opens up to 30+
I had never noticed this progressive loading of older URs and I’m sure I’ve seen “red” tags at wider zoom levels before. Maybe this was a part of the latest WME changes?

Places tab conflicts with Places Tools. Any way to resolve?

Could be another phased rollout of new and “improved” features across the different servers - WME on the international server was still dishing out URs of all ages at all zoom levels, so perhaps this age/zoom link is only active on the US server at the moment… When I get a chance, I’ll compare servers and see what’s what.

Didn’t even know that script existed… When I get time I’ll see what the conflict is and how best to resolve it.

I just checked the US server, and when fully zoomed out I was able to see URs over a month old, so still not sure why you’re seeing a difference based on zoom levels :?

Strange.

I’ll check it out again and try to confirm.

Very, very strange.

I disabled all scripts and started panning around on Zoom=0

Down in Orange County, I could view all URs including those over 30 days.
As I moved northwest into Los Angeles, I’d see some drop every now and then, until Whittier appeared at the corner of the screen. Around that area, moving closer to LA would cause ALL of them (even those displayed at the right of the map) to go blank.
Moving back into Orange County, they would come back slowly (not all at once)…
When I move to Los Angeles and move southeast, there is nothing on the map until I clear LA and then they start popping on.

Perhaps this is a limit of the Waze server to only display a maximum number of URs and to self-filter older reports when that number is exceeded? It certainly makes sense given the apparent progression.
