Hi!
This script improves permalink in Waze Map Editor. The following features are supported:

- W - permalink to non-beta version of Waze Map Editor with default set of layers, i.e. a permalink to share.

- L - permalink to Waze Livemap.

-
  -
    - paste a permalink from another window to position your current window to the same location.
For instance, you can paste a non-beta permalink to position your WME beta window.
Why WP+?

- With WP+ you can just copy a permalink. No need to click on it.

- WP+ takes care about selected segments, landmarks, nodes and cameras.

- WP+ works both in WME and latest WME beta 1.3.
Installation:

- For Google Chrome browser please download WP+.1.0.3.crx: link to Crome CRX package
Then drag and drop it into your Chrome Extensions Tab (chrome://extensions/)

- For Firefox/Greasemonkey please install the script from [userscripts.org](http://userscripts.org): link
Enjoy 😉

Changelog:

You could add a bookmarklet to your browser from the link above. That’s all I’ve ever used; don’t need an extension.

True, I just like having all waze related stuff in the editing window to avoid cluttering my favorites bar 😛

Edit: Also that links to main page, here’s the fix: [http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php?title=Map\_Editing\_Tips\_and\_Hints#Map\_Editor\_Bookmarklet\_Scripts](http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php?title=Map_Editing_Tips_and_Hints#Map_Editor_Bookmarklet_Scripts) 😉
Edit2:Made bookmarklet [https://www.waze.com](https://www.waze.com), copied modified bookmarklet into script code and good to go! 😃 thanks Alan.

Hi!
Sorry, I was in the middle of code refactoring, so it took me some time to fix this. I thoroughly tested NA editor and livemap with the links you send me in PM, so I hope it works OK now 😉 Please find the links to v0.99.1 in my original post.

To switch from non-beta to beta WME, you just copy non-beta permalink and then paste it in beta WME using the “+” permalink button. Switching between non-beta and beta saves the selection of segments, landmarks, nodes or cameras.

At the moment to switch back from livemap to the editor you have to copy livemap permalink (top-right corner) and then in the WME editor just paste it using the “+” permalink button. I’m going to implement an edit link right in the livemap view and some more new features in september.

Ciao!

Do you just drop the layers selection with your code? The layers in prod and beta do not align and does strange things…

Hi!
In [parseURL()](http://userscripts.org/scripts/review/175226) I always set layers to TBFTFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTFTTTTFTF for beta and BFTFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTFTTTTFTT for prod. Just checked on another PC - works fine in Chrome and Firefox. Shall I just omit “layers” parameter, what do you think?

I just noticed that you can’t paste ROW permalinks into USA WME and vice versa. It simply stays on the same server. Will be fixed later.

I need to update my bookmarklet. I want to keep all other parameters and just drop the layers I think.

Ah, ok. I was afraid my script does the mess 😃

It’s easy to find out the correlation between the versions, but my original idea was to reset the layers to their “defaults”. For instance, the “Editable Area” layer dims out the map if you have no rights, so it’s hard to see the map details for most of low level editors.

I’m currently facing problem when I click the “W” from the beta editor . It will open a tab and point to [here](https://world.waze.com/editor/?lat=3.30011&lon=101.28952&zoom=5&layers=BFTFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTFTTTTFTT) which is zoom out to 200km / 200mi

The current version version of the script I’m using is 0.99.1

Hope it can be fixed as It’s useful for me to provide permalink to my CMs or higher level editors who are not beta testers.

Its no longer working on switching the URL between beta and non beta. I think this has to due with the change to the beta URL to /editor/

Not sure whether anybody is facing this but when I copy a non-beta URL when I receive a email notification from the reporter that replied and use the “+” to paste to the beta editor, the UR with the conversation or any UR will not appear at all. It will only appear when I refresh the screen by clicking on the F5 key.

Seems it’s happening when in beta you have UR layer switched off.

I guess it’s a bug of WME beta, since it shows that UR layer is on, but actually it’s off unless you reload the page or switch UR layer off and on again…

You are right. After opening the beta editor and making sure I see other UR on the map, then only click the “+” and drop the non-beta URL, it works.

I further tested with both beta and non- beta editor with the UR and editable layer switched on and landmark layer switched off first.

Then after I dropped the non-beta URL in, the beta editor shows the editable layer is off when it’s suppose to be on and landmark layer is on when it’s suppose to be off.

I’ve compared both the non-beta and beta layers after using the “+” :

`non-beta layer : TBFTFFTTTTFTTTTTTTTTTTTTFTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
    beta layer : TBFTFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTFTTTTFT`

Can anything be done about this? Thanks in advance.

1. The “standard” set of layers (satellite + roads + landmarks + speed cameras + map problems + update requests) at the moment looks like this ‘TBFTFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTFTTTTFT’ both in beta and prod versions of WME. You have some extra 'T’s at the end because of the scripts installed - some of them add extra layers to WME.

WP+ always produces permalinks with the “standard” set of layers as above so there is no mistake here.

1. If you disable all of the WME scripts (including WP+), disable UR layer and then just paste an URL with the layers as above - WME will show URs only after another reload. That is why I think it’s a WME bug.
